Congratulations to Art Gallery of Greater Victoria (AGGV) for completing a day diversity training session for their staff. The AGGV staff affirmed their commitment to diversity and inclusion in working with staff, volunteers and clients. The half-day training encouraged cross cultural awareness, explored the impact of personal bias and shared tools and ideas to bring the AGGV’s art to a broader and more diverse audience.
Barb Lucas, Director of Administration for the AGGV, spoke about the importance of the session: “The AGGV boasts a diverse range of art; we know it is important to see the face of the Gallery better reflect the diversity of its art collection and to raise cultural and age awareness. The ICA training workshop, very capably led by ICA facilitator Steve Baileys, provided that opportunity to help us meet this goal.”
Thanks to AGGV’s Michelle Jacques and Barb Lucas for organizing the training.
