Voice & Place: Community Map

Help create an interactive map of diverse cultural experience in the Capital Regional District!

What people and places create a sense of belonging in your community?

Where have you felt welcomed and included?

ICA is mapping images that reflect diverse experiences of place, identity and sense of belonging in our community.  We are offering workshops in six different areas of the Capital Region. Newcomers and long term residents are encouraged to participate. Join us in learning about, photographing and celebrating your community! More information here.

If you have an image to upload, please click on the button below and follow the steps. Images can be as large as 3 Mb. If you have any difficulty uploading your image, please contact us.

This community map is part of the Voice & Place: Culture, Communtiy and Belonging project. Along with our community mapping workshops, we are also creating a display of photographs by immigrant newcomers, documenting their vision of community in Greater Victoria. We will be presenting the photo display along with this online mapping project in a public celebration in spring 2012.  Watch this space for details, or sign up for our enewsletter, Tapestry, for updates.

For more information, please contact Karin Scarth, ICA Arts Manager at 250-388-4728 ext 129 or kscarth@icavictoria.org

This project is made possible through funding from the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia.
