English Language Services for Adults (ELSA)
Beginner to Intermediate. Morning or afternoon sessions. Child care available for pre-school children of students. Small, friendly classes which focus on practical English and information about life in Canada. Classes are free for newcomers in some categories. Please contact an ELSA assessment centre for qualification requirements. Funded by the Ministry of Attorney General.

Volunteer English as a Second Language (VESL)
Levels 1-5. Morning or afternoon classes. Practical English skills for adults taught by carefully selected volunteer teachers. Open to all newcomers, visitors and students. Sliding fee scale.

Host Program
Matching new immigrants and refugees with Canadian volunteers. Host volunteers help newcomers become more familiar with their new community as well as helping to improve conversational English.
