2013 Blossoms Campaign:
A Youth Fundraising Call Out!

Spring is in full bloom! Help us raise $5,000 towards our two youth summer programs by June 27, Multiculturalism Day.

We need your support for 40 immigrant youth to blossom. During the upcoming months many immigrant families will move to our community and young immigrants will start their transition into their new life in Canada. Over 1400 new immigrants moved to our region last year, and 29% are under 24 years old.

Why Origami?

Origami pieces all start the same way, from one square of paper. Hundreds of unique pieces are constructed with careful folding of this same piece of paper. Similar to origami, we are also shaped by own experiences, friendships and love. We create our own experiences and each unique experience shapes how we are formed. Origami represents the life experiences that mold us.

How Can I Help?

Hundreds of origami pieces have been hand crafted by ICA youth. With your gift of $10, $20, $50, $100 or $250 you can add an origami piece to the fundraising tree in the ICA reception by dropping in to donate at our reception at 930 Balmoral Road (at Quadra) or ONLINE.

The tree will grow and blossom until the end of June when the youth programs will begin.

Purchase the following gifts and watch our tree grow!

$2—Small Green Crane
$5—Small Orange Crane
$10—Medium Green Crane

$20—Medium Pink Crane
$50—Large Cranes (orange, pink, green)

$100—Silver Blossom               $250—Gold Blossom

When you make a donation to ICA, you are supporting over 1,400 immigrants and refugees annually and helping to make Victoria a more welcoming and inclusive community.

Testimonials

“I learned how to prepare my resume, how to do a good interview, what the culture is in Canadian workplace. I think ICA gives great help to new immigrants.”

-ICA Client

“When I just came to Victoria, no friends, don’t understand English, can’t communicate with the local people, I felt very depressed. When I came to ICA, not only did I learn English, I also made many new friends.”
