We have announced that we will not be producing the festival in the summer at Beacon Hill Park as we have for the past ten years. For more background on this decision, please see our News page. We have started a process of community consultation and brainstorming for a new, sustainable form for the celebration and you can be part of it! In the company of an incredible rainbow and unexpected thunderstorm, Luminara celebrated its tenth year of illumination, music and cultural diversity on Saturday July 25, 2009. Many thanks to our sponsors, funders and everyone who came out and sparkled up the night!

Inspired by the many festivals of light held in countries around the world, Luminara has become a tradition in Victoria, and every year the community has turned out in glowing costumes with homemade lanterns to find the candle-lit installations and local performers in the dark of Beacon Hill Park. This year we will not be in the Park, but watch this space for timing and location announcements in the next few months.
