Be a Mentor!

The ICA’s Host Mentoring Services matches internationally trained professionals with qualified mentors in the same or related career field to help them become familiar with their profession in the Canadian context. We match a wide variety of mentors, such as:

• Accountants
• Architects
• Biologists
• Chemists
• Environmentalists
• Mathematicians
• Computer Software and Interactive Media Developers
• Pilots
• Conference and Event Planners
• Writers (Advertising, Interactive Media and Technical)
• Human Resource Professionals
• Engineers (All Fields)
• Financial and Investment Analysts
• Business and Marketing Professionals
• Geologists and Geochemists
• Information Systems and Database Analysts
• Registered Nurses
• Veterinarians

This mentorship opportunity is ideal for mentors who consider themselves experts in their field. Mentors will share their professional knowledge and experience from a Canadian perspective, provide encouragement and support to a skilled newcomer, contribute to the betterment of their trade or profession, and learn more about the issues facing new Canadians. Mentoring pairs are matched for a period of 3-6 months and commit to meeting with each other on a regular basis.

For more information about becoming a mentor, please contact Carla Green at ICA: 388-4728 x114 or vol@icavictoria.org.
