We ran several programs during the summer, including our ACE Camp, for participants ages 7-12, where youth got to go to Elk Lake, Beacon Hill Park and more. We also had our Summer Remix program, where youth got to go hiking and geocaching, and lastly in preparation for school was our Conversation Club! Youth were prepared to get back to school through various activities like city scavenger hunts, trips to the Legislative Building, the library, and more!
To the New School Year
As the new school year began we were able to run a youth bike skills course. With the support of the Bike to Work team, youth learned skills to be safer on the road when biking. From there, we head straight into our annual fundraiser on September 30, the Ride for Refuge, where our youth team “Wheels of Thunder” will bike and walk to help raise funds for youth programs at ICA!
Upcoming programs include our Homework Club, which begins on September 27, 2017, every Wednesday from 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm. Homework club is for ages 8-25 years old. With the help of our dedicated team of volunteers, youth get help with homework, get to learn and develop English language skills in a fun and relaxed environment, and get time to learn and interact with youth of various ages.
Keep a lookout for more information on upcoming programs and adventures in our wonderful Youth Space!
