Project Background

The Interfaith Open House and Dialogue Project is a collaboration between the Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria (ICA), the Victoria Multifaith Society (VMS) and the South Island Dispute Resolution Centre (SIDRC). Recently, a series of three dialogue sessions were held with members of the Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh and Unitarian faiths.

This project builds upon a similar project developed last year in which members of the Baha’i, Christian, Jewish and Muslim faith groups attended a series of dialogue sessions. In each dialogue project, the participants engaged in discussions about their respective faiths and explored questions regarding their relationships in an effort to foster greater understanding and cooperation.

The Interfaith Open Houses are part of the second phase of the Interfaith Dialogue Project, and are designed to increase understanding, develop new relationships and encourage cooperation among the many Capital Region faith groups.

For more information about the Interfaith Dialogue Project and Open Houses, please contact Steven Lorenzo Baileys at ICA, 250-388-4728 ext. 116 or sbaileys@icavictoria.org
