Immigrant Welcome Centre

Welcome to Victoria! At ICA we can help you to build connections in our community through providing you information around:

  • human rights
  • housing
  • school for newcomer children
  • health
  • citizenship and immigration
  • employment
  • income tax
  • pre-natal classes
  • citizenship classes
  • free legal clinic

If you are an immigrant to BC, you may be eligible for services from our immigrant-serving agency:

A Virtual Host Volunteer will be happy to answer more questions you may have about immigration and settlement in Victoria.

What is a Virtual Host Volunteer?

A Virtual Host Volunteer is an Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria (ICA) volunteer who will provide you with as much information as possible to any questions you may have about settlement and orientation into the Greater Victoria area. For example if you need more information about English as Second Language programs, housing information in Victoria, or employment services etc., a volunteer will respond to your question as soon as possible.

Virtual Host Volunteers are Canadians who are familiar with all aspects of Victoria and have been trained in cross-cultural understanding. They are knowledgeable and friendly. Feel free to communicate with your Virtual Host Volunteer at any time if you have more questions. Once you arrive in Victoria and come to ICA, you can meet your Host Volunteer in person!
