Sifting Through the Layers: An Innovative Approach to Anti-Racism Education Now Available: DVD and Facilitator Resource Package for $25 (includes shipping and handling) Produced by a group of youth,"Sifting Through the Layers" is a unique and stimulating learning tool which provides a series of informative and insightful skits and personal views that explore issues of race, identity, diversity and discrimination from the perspective of youth. The stories are thought provoking, real and the issues are timely and relevant.
The package includes a 40 minute DVD and a 50 page facilitator resource guide. Pre-view a copy of the Sifting
through the Layers facilitator's resource guide “The issues that the YAR group addresses are very relevant to most
communities and the power of their stories lies in the fact that they
come from the realities of the youth. By creating a DVD resource package,
these youth will be able to share their learning with a potentially unlimited
number of youth and adults around the island, province, and country.” “Despite hearing that we’re just a bunch of negative teenagers
a few times, we’re really excited to speak our truths and share
them with our community. We all know the good things about Canada and
we want to keep working towards real equality by questioning the systems
that are preventing it.”
