The interview will be recorded. The recording will be used only to help with taking notes and being able to correctly interpret your answers. It will be deleted after the study has been completed. Only the researchers from this study will have access to your recording and all data will be stored on a password-protected computer in a locked space. To protect your privacy, your name and contact information will not be included in any file name, primary data collection, reports, publications, or presentations that may come from this study. The study’s anonymous results will be shared with Justice Canada.

If you agree, we might use direct quotes from your interview in the report, but this will not include any information that identifies you personally. At all times, your identity will be kept completely confidential and the information you provide will be wholly anonymous.

Your responses are covered by ICA’s privacy policies. Any research materials and notes are accessible to the researchers only and will be deleted after the study is completed. If you have any questions or concerns about how your personal information is handled, please contact ICA’s privacy officer: privacy@icavictoria.org.

If you decide later that you do not want to have your data included, you can ask for your information to be removed from the study up until the time that our data analyses are complete.

Your decision to participate (or not) in this study will have no effect on your relationship with the agency or organization that might have invited you to participate. You do not waive any legal right by giving consent.
