Intake Services



If you are an immigrant to BC, you may be eligible for immigrant settlement services support from our immigrant-serving agency. 

The first step is to visit our office in person and participate in

drop-in, first come, first served process

What to bring with you?

Permanent Resident Card, or

Work Permit*, or

Any other immigration papers in your possession.

May be eligible for services

Canadian Passport/Certificate or Citizenship Card

The process

Your documentation will be assessed for eligibility based on current immigration status.

You will meet with an Intake Worker to complete the intake process.

You will be provided with support information to ICA services and programs.

An appointment will be made for you following the intake process as per your need.

ICA provides high quality professional interpretation services in many languages.

Interpretations can occur in-person, by phone or representation at appointments (schools, doctors, lawyers, social workers, etc.)

The process

Let us know what language, date, time, duration and location of the appointment you require an interpreter for as well as information relating to the professional that the appointment is with.

Our Interpretation/Translation Administrative Assistant will assess the details and provide you with an estimate cost.

If cost is agreed upon –

a form (contract) is completed, signed and returned to ICA,

an appointment will be booked, and

a deposit** for the first hour is required.

The client will sign a confirmation of services rendered form at the end of the session.

An invoice will be prepared.

**Accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express, debit, discover & JCB and cash (no cheques)

ICA offers professional, culturally appropriate, translation services in many languages1.

Documents such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, passport stamps, driver’s licenses, school transcripts, criminal record checks, etc. can be translated.

How long will it take?

3 to 7 business days for regular requests, or

2 business days for urgent requests.

The process

Bring your original document/s to be translated to ICA.

Reception will provide you with the fee structure and estimated timeline for processing. 

If you agree with the fee and timeline, you need to complete an application form.

Payment is required in advance.

Written quotations will be provided upon request for translations less than $300.

Translation request is in excess of $300 requires ICA to provide a written quotation that will be signed off by the client prior to service being provided.  A deposit of half the quoted amount is required.

Intake hours:

Monday to Thursday: 9:30 am to 5:00 pm

Friday: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm

Interpretation/Translation hours:

Monday to Thursday: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Friday: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
